[Jason] Well, as usual Andrea and I left Kalamazoo for the weekend (seems like we are always gone on the weekends!!) and we went to Freeport, IL for the 5th Annual Glassman Labor Day Melee. It is basically an excuse to eat like crap all weekend, play bag-o (or cornhole), enjoy adult beverages, and have a relaxing good time.
We were late to the party this year because we attended my friend Jeremy's wedding in the morning on Saturday. So, we arrived on Saturday afternoon and jumped right now. This year the menu was paella on Friday (we missed this, but have had it in years past), Grilled Pizza's (16 total - 5lbs of flour was used!), and then Ribs on Sunday. I'm going to try and see if I can get a complete list of all the food we ate or were able to sample and post that later.
So, other than the food we tied the dogs up on runs and let them play in the yard pretty much the entire weekend. Bella wouldn't have it any other way, she could spend every minute of everyday outside. Played cornhole (I didn't win once...and was a good loser if you can imagine that!), and just sat around and talked with each other.
On Monday we left and started out trip back to Michigan. We stopped in Michigan City to visit Andrea's mom and step-dad Matt, their dog Sam, and a dog they were baby sitting Taser (named after Jonathon Toews). Sam does not enjoy Ben's company and would run away from him whenever Ben would get close to him. We sat out on their deck for about an hour and then needed to get back because unfortunately we both had to go back to work. Tuesday was the first day Andrea had kids in her class room so she was a bit nervous/anxious. Andrea may post more about the weekend later this week. She is really busy with school starting.
